What is a healthcare assistant?
A healthcare assistant works under the guidance of healthcare professionals. Their job may differ from case to case as they are a qualified employee who can fulfil several requirements. As a healthcare assistant you must be caring, compassionate towards the clients and ensure they are being supported and having their daily needs met. They ensure that the patient is stress-free and has a pleasant experience in the company.

What does a healthcare assistant do?
This will be under the guidance of healthcare professionals, and the work they will have to do will be different depending on the service users needs. For example:
– emotional support
– assist with getting washed and dressed
– assist with meals and fluids
– assist with personal care and hygiene
– help with transfers

Registered Nurses

What is a registered nurse?
Registered Nurses provide medical and nursing care to service users in a variety of healthcare settings. Registered nurses have completed a three-year training course and are registered with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council). Relies with GP’s and other professionals in the best interest of the service users.

What does a registered nurse do?

It plays an important role in coordinating the team because it ensures that everything runs smoothly and service users receive the care they need in a timely manner. A nurse has a variety of responsibilities and some of them are:
– Assessing, observing, and speaking to service users
– Ordering and administering prescribed medication
– Checking service users observations and documents
– checking for infection, bedsores and wounds in the service users
– dressing or redressing wounds and assessing the progress of healing
